This July, my friends and i reserved a bungalow for the weekend and were so excited to relax in a beautiful 5 star service and atmosphere (as we were told). When we arrived at check in time, we were SHOCKED to find:
-the garden full of huge lizards was disgustingly dirty (because they had just chopped the beautiful garden tree down due to complaints of previous customers having worms falling from the tree into their food! I cant believe the guy thought we would be encouraged to stay after what he had just told us!)
-the outside was jacuzzi empty and dirty (the guy was filling it with water from a hose! and noticed 15 min later that the jacuzzi wasnt filling up because it was leaking!
-the inside was jacuzzi dirty with a USED towel next to it
-the incompetent staff (2 men who hadnt even bothered to check the rooms before we arrived!)
-there were NO helpers or cleaners (all the 2 men could say was that it was not THEIR job to clean but they were doing it anyway.. tirbi7 jmileh)
-the room was stuffy (ac wasnt on)
-TV didnt work
-mini fridge was empty
-bedlamp light was burnt and broken
-no complimentary fruit basket (or anything)
needless to say we were UTTERLY shocked and dissapointed to be greeted with such a mess ESPECIALLY since we confirmed a month before and then 2 hours before and we were told that everything was ready!
very angry and dissapointed,an hour later we took our money and left. how were we compensated? the guy incharge tells us 'yalla ma3leh ok?" sssuuuch a dissapointment. LA GUAVA should remove 4 and half stars to be honest about their 'service'.
i will make sure to tell all my friends not to go to La Guava!!
This July 2008, I reserved for my husband and I a bungalow at La Guava Resort. I wanted to leave the first day I arrived but I didn’t want to ruin our anniversary. Unfortunately they did ruin it!
I am very glad that I found a website like this one so I can tell people to stay away from it:
1- Don’t rely on the pictures to decide if it’s a 5 star hotel or not. The people who created the resort have a very good taste but the ones who are managing it don’t know anything about management.
2- When we first arrived the bungalow was not clean: maybe the floor wasn’t cleaned for ages, the bins where full of dirt, hair in the shower, soap used.
3- The Jacuzzi was not working. If you touch were the water comes down you get an electric shock.
4- When you open the water there is only boiling water. BOILING in a way that you can burn yourself. No cold water, you can’t even wash your hands!!! The water was coming out in a way that you need an hour to wash your hair.
5- Mosquitoes are everywhere. You can never stay calm you should always shake your hands to keep them away (in the bungalow, the restaurant and the pool)
6- I have never heard of a hotel that keeps the music very loud late in the night!!! We couldn’t sleep until 4 o’clock in the morning! Hello guys! Did I rent a bungalow to stay awake all night or to sleep, relax and take a rest? Yes, we called the reception at 12 o’clock and every one hour but the guys answering were liars and every time we called they said they will lower the music in half an hour! There was about only 10 persons on the pool!
7- The disaster is also on the pool:
a. The white plastic surrounding the pool was broken in different places. More than 4 persons fell in it and injured themselves in front of us. The safeguard came and told them that it’s ok a lot of people injured themselves more than you!!!
b. The pool edge was slippery and very dirty. You can guess if a person was sitting on the edge of the pool by looking at their swimsuit: it’s black on the back!
c. The water was very very very dirty! No need to explain more here.
8- We asked for breakfast at 9 o’clock. We got at 10 o’clock because the kitchen was still closed. Please somebody tell me when is the breakfast hours in 5 star or 1 star hotels?!?
9- The staff was unprofessional. We called them for every problem we had but non of them was resoled.
10- We didn’t want to get financially compensated we just wanted to hear something nice from their part but they acted like nothing had happened.
I won’t let my friends ruin their vacation and go there.

I just wanted to share my experience with you.
we booked 3 bungalows for a night and when we arrived we were shoked by everything there.
-there was no one at the tiny reception and when finally someone came the last thing you can see on his face was a smile.
-the rooms were dirty.not cleaned for ages.
-the bathrooms were left to the nature to clean them.hair everywhere and there were no towels at all.when we asked for some towels we got used ones.
-the bed sheets were not changed
-the ac was not working in one of the rooms and was not fixed
-there was no tv
-no lighting in the room so we had to ask for a movable unit
-it was a saturday and there was only one restaurant open and please dont try to eat there if you want to come home safe.
-all the employees there are unhappy and treating the customers like i dont want to say what ...
my list can go on and on but i really dont want to waste your time.
we checked out the same night ,we were not reemboursed but in the contrary the responsible there was acting in a very unprofessional impolite way.
dont go there if you want to have a good time and preserve your money.
and to the team of la guava i want to say before you take people's money LEARN about how to make a resort

U idiot....it looks like a 5 star resort but is actually a half star resort. and evweryone please believe when i say never look for the stars in hotel...I used to work at Portemilio for 6 years as reservation manager and I can tell you it's everything but a 5 star hotel, it does not even deserve a half star...and I'm not just saying that coz I used to work there and I left but you can go try it yourself...
We know that you were (not was) the manager there and you got (not get, past tense) fired because of your mismanagement (miss management - shou hey a new beauty contest)

last june, i rented a bungalow at laguava.
to be honest, i was SHOCKED when i got there. it was GORGEOUS ! i did not expect it to be that amazing , i had only seen the pictures. anyways , it was a great experience and the service was great .
the staff was very nice and helpful , and also very beautiful men .
the other stories about the mishaps are all fake . i went there with my family , and my children enjoyed it very very much .
i suggest la guava very strongly.
Sorry, just want to let u know that i did rent 2 floor chalet in faraya with 2 bed rooms, 2 bathrooms, beatiful livingroom, kitchen, and balconic costs 4500$ for whole winter. so plz can u give information why 11000$ for summer? it's too much really... :S
Laguava is a resort where people can go to have a wonderful time....NOT! Laguava is a place to go if you want to die from the inside......no offence to the people to like it. Enno Shoo haydei?!!?! People come from other cities and countries to stay in Lebanon and they might hear that Laguava is a good place, then when they go there......ya know......they feel like they would wanna go back from where they came from and they might give the whole Lebanon a bad REVIEW.....come on lebanese!
I rent a bungalow with my friends for a weekend! everything was great except that no arguile is allowed!this was ok until the day we decided to fill the jacuzzi and discovered a big insect ", so we rushed and asked for help.
We booked in mars 2009 ten days for july 2009 for two adults and two young boys and one baby.
Laguav seems like a paradise, but the qulity of the room service is very bad.
We had to ask for extra bed for our two boys, my baby ( six months) had no bed and had to sleep on sea transat!
Every day, Ihad to ask for towels and bed robe for my three kids.
There is no nocturne life, no resturant the nignt, no fish restaurant and no pizza restaurant during the day, no club for the kids.
There is no animation for th kids and the main swimming pool is forbidden for the kids.
We had to ask every morning breakfast for our kids, they brought coffee but no little spoon etc etc.
The landscape is beautiful, the chalet are beautiful ( but you have to ask every day to clean your room).
The idea of this resort is revolutionnary for Lebanon, but they have to make progress for the service
It's not a luxury resort, so much lies.
It wasn't a nigntmare, but I was tired to ask every days bed, towels and breakfast for may kids.Its wasn't holidays for me.
I don't speak of the sweets and clothes of my kids wihc were stolen...
May be in e few years it would be better but it's not a luxury resort and soexpensive for the service proposed.
I don't speak about the minors who are working there.
it's not a luxury resort for internationnal people who likes to spend their time in luxury resort in maldives to have beauty and calm, and discret luxe and charm.

about bangalows ,usually ,it is not rented with the services, you have to buy everything yourself..that is normally...you are not in a hotel!!!!
I will go to see for myself and share my experience later...I mean what kind of services are you expecting when going to the beach???usually all you will need is nice atmosphere and landscape 4 eyes to enjoy and good food...I hope that i will find those at least !!! wait till i go and then i will tell ...

I said that the place was beautiful but we are a family with 10 eyes ( not four), and very young eyes.
A resort is a hotel, you need to travel, my dear, in lebanon and other countries.
One day, may be you will have children and I hope they won't sleep on one dirty sea transat...
When I go to the beach, I hope calm, beauty, and a clean sea ( it wasn't), bath for my kids ( so bath towel), swimming pool for every one ( and not forbidden for the kids)and good food,
and for the food, may be all the restaurants will be open but not in july for us.
So much lies... A good idea for the south lebanon, but it's not a luxury resort, that's all;
We don't rent normal chalet but a luxury chalet with a normal service.

hey, yesterday i was at laguava. It is a cute beach resort.i have few notes, for the sand beach its verygood and clean but it lacks fun, i mean only bamboo and beds ye3ni mafi fun.and it is very far from wooden steps and cabinets. The pool is very cute but is small i mean you can relax in it but you cant swim in it and has no depth inno 1.5 meters kila bs very small . As a conclusion : u to laguava to relax and be away from noise but it is not the place for fun and games. Its great if u go with ur gf u can have ur ROMANTIC MOMENTS there. But if ur going in a group... Naaaah mafi jaww... Btezha2 ye3ni.
Hey people, this summer will be great...i hope that they good partys like every summers before....Laguava by the way is right now one of the best beach resort in lebanon.They made everything new....so lets have fun ;-))
